Chernell Bizzell-Barnett, LPC-S, CCTP, CAGCS
CEO/Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Meet Chernell Bizzell-Barnett
Counseling is more than a profession for me—it is my life's calling. My passion is helping individuals discover hope, healing, and the strength to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling. In addition to owning and operating Magic City Counseling, I serve as a mental Health Counselor at a public organization, I have also been a motivational speaker, presenting on topics related to mental health, trauma, resilience, personal growth, and emotional wellness.
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and youth from diverse backgrounds. My professional experience includes providing counseling and support for substance use disorders, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), incarceration and community reentry, non-custodial mothers, LGBTQ+ individuals, family and relationship concerns, and a broad range of mental health challenges. I believe every person deserves compassionate, culturally responsive care in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and empowered.
As my passion for supporting others has continued to grow, I recently completed training as a birth doula. This role allows me to provide compassionate emotional, physical, and informational support to mothers throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum transition. It is an honor to walk alongside families during one of life's most meaningful experiences.
Whether you are seeking support for healing, personal growth, relationship challenges, or life transitions, my goal is to provide a welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we can work toward meaningful change, renewed hope, and lasting emotional well-being.
"Counseling is more than a profession—it is my life's calling."
No meaningful journey is accomplished alone, and I am deeply grateful to the many people whose love, encouragement, prayers, and unwavering support have carried me through the years. Your kindness, belief in me, and presence throughout this journey have been invaluable, and I will always cherish the role you have played in my life.
To my mother, Diane, words cannot fully express the depth of my gratitude. Thank you for instilling in me the values of faith, perseverance, resilience, and compassion. Your unwavering love, tough yet nurturing guidance, and countless prayers have sustained me through life's greatest challenges and celebrated me during its greatest joys. You believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself, and your faith has been a constant source of strength. I am the woman I am today because of your love, wisdom, and steadfast example. For these gifts and so much more, I will be forever grateful.
To my family, friends, mentors, colleagues, and everyone who has encouraged, supported, and poured into my life along the way, thank you. Whether your contribution was through a kind word, a listening ear, a prayer, a sacrifice, or simply your presence, you have helped shape this journey in ways that can never be fully expressed. Although I cannot mention each of you by name, please know that your generosity, encouragement, and belief in me have left a lasting imprint on my heart.
This accomplishment is not mine alone—it is a reflection of the love, faith, and support so many have generously shared with me. Thank you for walking beside me and inspiring me to continue pursuing my purpose. I am forever grateful.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Chernell D. Bizzell-Barnett
